Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:Applicants must have or be eligible to hold a valid PEI Teacher's License and have a physical education or kinesiology degree or specialization;Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with children, parents and colleagues;Excellent classroom management and organizational skills, knowledge of effective teaching strategies and be able to demonstrate strong teamwork and collaborative practices;Commitment to the school community, and demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning.The following would be considered assets: Experience at the Elementary grade levels;Experience with IEPs & BSPs;Experience with PowerSchool;Knowledge of school level curriculum;Experience with EAL students and families;Knowledge and experience with adaptations and modifications to curriculum;Knowledge of effective assessment strategies;Familiarity using personal computers, Smartboard Interactive Lessons, Google Classroom, and other related software applications.Note: Please ensure the application clearly demonstrates how you meet the noted qualifications as applicants will be screened based on the information provided.
