FOOD SERVICE WORKER
JOB DESCTRIPTION
Summary
Performs a wide range of duties involved with preparing/serving food and beverages in a long-term care setting. Assist in cleaning work areas, equipment, utensils, etc. Serving food to residents with a wide variety of dietary needs and textures. Great opportunity to have experience in working in a health care setting.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Set up food service, kitchen, and dining room areas for meal times.
- Monitor and check food and fridge/freezer temperatures throughout the day as needed according to standards.
- Pour drinks according to therapeutic textures and needs of residents.
- Portion and serves meals to resident according to assigned diets.
- Prepare and deliver snacks to residents during appropriate set times.
- Adhere to food safety standards at all times.
- Clean dishes after every meal according to safety and sanitation standards at all times.
- Assembles trays for dietary carts.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
- Knowledge of therapeutic diets and textures an asset.
- Friendly and caring towards seniors living in long term care.
- Knowledge of food preparation methods and quality standards.
Job Requirements
High school degree or GED. Food Safety certification a bonus. Excellent customer service skills and ability to deal with a variety of customers.

Salary: $21.53-$23.19 per hour
