Piecework Paid Fish Plant Workers earn piecework rates ranging from $1.79 - $15.21 per case.

On average, Piecework Employees earn approximately

$16.06 - $25.00 per hour

All Piecework paid positions are guaranteed at least the

Provincial minimum wage.

Hourly Paid Positions (Hourly rate: $15.19 - $20.01):

Unload fish from fishing vessels and transport them to work area in processing plant

Transport canned product and supplies throughout the plant and warehouse area manually or with powered equipment

Manually handle frozen fish products and prepare fresh fish for freezing for future production needs

Sort fish according to size, weight and destination relating to daily production requirements

Weigh canned product to ensure proper weight specification are met

Weigh fish, record weight and pack in ice

NOC Code 9463 -Machine Operators, QC Inspectors and Fish Trimmers:

Hourly Paid Positions (Hourly rate: $15.19 - $20.01):
Set up and operate machines to clean, cut, cook, smoke, or otherwise process fish
Set up and operate machines to can, box or otherwise package fish product
Record production information such as quality, weight, date and type of product packaged
Check fish product and packaging for defects and ensure conformance to Company standards.
Check fish product to determine optimal number and size of fish selections, cut sections are according to specification and place in the container for weighing

Working Conditions and Physical Capacities:
Our plant workers are responsible for processing the wild sardines we catch and processing them into our Brunswick brand sardines. Positions range from the moment we take the fish off the boats, to the moment we label our cans and send them to the warehouse. Positions can be physically demanding with a combination of sitting, standing and/or walking for extended periods, as you will be working in a production environment.
